Free Community Kitchen (Langar) – All Welcome
Langar: A Meal of Equality and Compassion
Langar is far more than a free meal it is a powerful symbol of love, unity, and equality. In the Langar hall, everyone sits together on the floor, side by side, sharing the same food regardless of race, colour, background, or status. This simple act reinforces the belief that all human beings are equal.
Sharing food in the Langar creates a deep sense of community and togetherness. It brings people closer, breaks social barriers, and connects individuals who might never cross paths otherwise. In essence, Langar is a living example of humanity in action—nourishing both body and soul, one plate at a time.
How It Works
The entire system is sustained by volunteers who offer their time and effort as an act of Seva selfless service. They prepare the food, serve each meal, and clean up afterward with genuine joy and devotion. Through this service, they embody humility, compassion, and kindness.
